ALLISON PASCHKE Porcelain Sculpture

When you look inside one of these pieces, your mind enters into an intimate miniature "room." Moving it around in relation to different light sources produces a variety of lighting effects both inside and outside the piece.

The porcelain is chemically between a clay and a glaze, and must be ground fine in small batches. It is very prone to cracking and slumping in the kiln, but produces a silky surface to touch, and a very high degree of translucency.
