ALLISON PASCHKE Anastasia I & II translucent porcelain, tissue paper, thread, wire
"Anastasia"
2007, "de/construct" exhibition, Providence, RI
translucent porcelain, tissue paper, thread, wire
24' x 22' x 9' high, approx. 100 threads

“Anastasia” consisted of tiny delicate elements (mainly porcelain), strung on threads spaced approx. 7 inches apart. They were arranged in a circular formation with an opening in the corner and a straight line on the exterior, so that visitors could move around and between the elements and through passages of shadow and light. Tiny fans caused the elements to turn, sway, and make faint tinkling sounds.
