Seven Windows is an installation of seven transclucent pieces in a wall in a converted brick industrial loft building. The wall is positioned with morning light striking the exterior wall and afternoon light striking the interior wall so that a wide range of light conditions affect the pieces. The wall apertures are 7.25 inches deep.

The client is an artist who wanted windows in the wall that separates her private studio space from a busy artist's cooperative spave. She needed to allow light into the studio while protecting her privacy and blocking heat and sound passage. She wanted the wall to appear both fortress-like and appealing to visitors. The layout of the windows relates to a series of ascending lofts inside the studio. The imagery relates to the surrounding architecture and to the interface between public and private space.
