In the same way that portable electronic devices allow people to scale down and interact with a vast and overwhelming technological world, my portable pieces allow people to handle and possess the overwhelming and the ephemeral. The pieces contain the uncontainable: emptiness and light. Also like electronic devices, my works provide a haven for escape. But instead of a fast paced and high impact distraction, my pieces offer a timeless and meditative quiet. As miniature personal Minimalist art objects, they allow the viewer to indulge in the unthinkable: to touch and manipulate a Modernist art object. Their small size, beautiful hand-worked surfaces, and fragility magnify their preciousness.
